Annie Ngo Barnes, DDS

When I was a teenager, I could not decide whether I wanted to be the next Ansel Adams or a marine biologist. Dentistry gives me the ability to be both a scientist and an artist. It also allows me to treat diseases and improve a person's overall health. When I wake up in the morning, I am excited because I am making a difference one person at a time. Working with so many people teaches me that no matter how much scholastic or life knowledge I have, I can still learn something new from my patients and my experience.

Education and Continuing Education

For my dental education, I attended one year at Pacific Union College and two years at CSU Sacramento, and majored in Art. I was then accepted for early admission to dental school after three years of undergraduate work. I graduated from Loma Linda University with my DDS.

My continuing education studies keep me up to date on the latest advances and techniques in dentistry, so I can be sure I am giving my patients the best care possible. As a part of my continuing education, I am an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Sacramento County Dental Society, and the Leadership Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (D.O.C.S.) to treat fearful patients. I have also taken classes in the Zimmer Implant Institute for advance implant surgical techniques, the Arrowhead Dental Education for full mouth reconstruction and implants, 3i Synergy for implant and restorative integration, and am certified in both Invisalign and MIDI technologies.

In the Practice

I have been practicing dentistry for more than ten years, and I love giving a patient the ability to smile with confidence. I also enjoy educating patients on the importance of their oral health, and how it can affect their overall health. I like helping fearful patients by showing them that modern dentistry can be gentle and painless.

I love creating relationships with my patients that are based on trust and honesty. Every patient has a different story, and I want to make sure each person's dental treatment is customized to satisfy his or her needs and wants.

In our practice, we like to laugh and make our patients laugh. Dentistry can be stressful for many people, and if we can take some of tension out of a dental appointment, then that makes us happy. Our team strives to always put patient care first, and our goal is to provide excellent and honest patient care.

Family Life

I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, and love living in Sacramento. My husband, Dr. Stephen Barnes, and I enjoy spending time with our son, our three Pekingese dogs, and our two Mini Rex rabbits. In my spare time, I love buying things on Amazon.
